On March 24 the team that runs our popular Middle School Dance party celebrated 2 years of their retro/ clearisil/bay side high/pegged pants/dep gel/claires boutique-inspired mega party that has come to define part of our Saturday night line up here at Good Life.

Every now and again, the stars align in such a way that we are able to bring someone that we respect, rock out to, but also that we would never be able to book otherwise. Enter Agaric. North American tour, hugely successful and influential Swedish born German producer/performer. You know who likes Agaric? People like Josh Wink and Marcel Dettmann to name a couple. Oh yea, and all of the people who have consistently gotten his tracks charted, over and over and over again. It’s safe to say that he’s kind of a big deal. Plan to get down to some really amazing techno!Opening up for him, Mr. McNeill and CS go head to head to bring you up to speed with their blend of house and techno that will kick things into high gear early. From their collabs at Chad’s apartment in Southie, to rocking the decks together during Tupac Rave, these two know a little something about fun and dance music. Get there early.Upstairs, the combination of Texas Mike and Evaredy will take turns with the soundtrack to your Saturday night. Both are more than expert at what they do, bringing a mixture of popular dance beats, hip hop and reggae that aims to please all revelers.

As usual, we suggest getting there early to beat the lines, catch some of the fantastic opening sets and get ready for a magical time. We’ll see you all on the floor!

Since his first official release in 2007, J:Kenzo’s jungle and techno influenced tracks have seen the light of day through labels such as Tempa, Dub Police, Argon Records, 2nd Drop and also his very own imprint Artikal Music UK.
His career took a critical turn when Youngsta became aware of his talent and took J:Kenzo under his wing. Since then tracks like ‘The Roteks’ and ‘Ruffhouse’ have had an even bigger impact on the international dubstep scene, gaining him support from selectors such as Hatcha, N-Type, Distance, DJ Laurent Garnier and Emalkay.

AxH (BASSIC,Tuba, Sturdy) Boston

AxH, (formerly Grizzly), has been dedicated to bass music and DJ-ing for over a decade. Based in Boston, MA, AxH got his start as Prodigal Son, producing Ragga Jungle that received praise and plays all over the world. AxH caught the Dubstep bug in 2006 while serving overseas in the U.S. Military, and has been pushing forward ever since! He has been releasing music digitally and on wax since 2004, and has played coast to coast in North America, supporting his releases. 2008 saw AxH perform in Kiev, Ukraine, a set that people are still talking about today.He has become a prolific producer as he’s honed his deep, dark, and heavy style. His debut Dubstep album is due out on Brooklyn based TUBA Records this spring. AxH is one of the residents for BASSIC Boston, (Boston’s premiere Dubstep night), where he can be heard dropping entire sets of his original tracks. You can also hear him on BASSIC’s Sub.FM show every Saturday night.

IMMvc (Dailo, RWD.FM)

Baptized in 2008 at London’s DMZ, the heart of the UK underground music scene, IMMvc (Max Von Cannon) was introduced to and inspired by the bass driven genre popularly known today as “dubstep”. After leaving London he remained in the shadows as an unknown bedroom DJ until earning his recognition when he won Boston’s Together Festival DJ mix competition in 2011. This past year has been a breakout year for the 22-year-old Boston DJ. Since Togetherfest 2011, IMMvc’s involvement in the Boston local underground music scene has grown and he remains passionate and devoted to his art of mixing bass music.

Scissor Test returns to the Good Life May 9th for a big ol party that will be preview of the hunger games 12 for the upcoming pre-release party from long time scissor test homie Octo Octa.

Scissor test will transform the good life into a lost episode of The New Dance Show from detroit (youtube it kids) with hologram Rj Watkins hosting. Expect beat perv to play a ton of dance from classic house and techno, plus vogue, diva, hard as fuck b-more and the whatever dance weirdo shit to make you give birth to a zombie 2pac.

And since its scissor test and we are the party of the add music choice we are kicking it off with one of our favorite loud bands Luau.

Embrace the wandering black hole that is scissor test May 9th at the Good Life in Boston. Party starts at 9.

This is the first year this event will be held at the Good Life so having the audio on serious speakers and the video on crisp flat screen TVs is going to be an extra treat.
