Social Studies Presents Tim Sweeney

August 24, 2012, 9:30 pm

This Summer has been nothing but fun and yet there’s room for more! This month Social Studies is back with guest deejay Tim Sweeney (Beats in Space | NYC)

Also, DJ Brek. One is upstairs spinning all the hip hop, reggae and party jams you can shake a stick at!

More on this month’s guests:

As host of Beats in Space, his Radio Show on WNYU, Tim has been on the airwaves for over 10 years bringing to his loyal listeners, the best in cutting-edge dance music. The show has not only cemented him as a globe-trotting deejay but as as a host, it has helped jump start the careers of countless DJs and Producers. The current playlist with over 600 shows reads like a “who’s who” of contemporary Dance Music. With guest mixes from Legends like DJ Harvey or Andrew Weatherall to veterans like James Murphy or Todd Terje, Beats in Space is without a doubt a special show.
Playing on Beats in Space is a sign of Recognition and an accomplishment. Just ask Soulclap.

It’s no surprise that most of our guest deejays at Social Studies have played Beats in Space at least once over it’s 13th year tenure. Tim Sweeney’s affiliation to DFA Records in the early days also cememted him as a tastemaker and a global deejay. Often found playing in Australia or Europe, there’s something to say as to why he is in such demand. Truth be told, beyond the radio, Tim is an excellent Deejay. That said, we feel really honored to bring him back to the Good Life for such a special night, so bring your dancing shoes and let’s get social!

…and don’t forget to swing by the DJ booth and give Alfredo a hug. he’s gonna be celebrating 3 decades of decadence! ;)
